One of my characters (Scott) likes to write songs about experiences or stuff he’s seen, as opposed to keeping a journal. Of course, I often do the same thing. I thought it might be cool to post the songs that Scott talks about on the Humanities website. I wrote and recorded them myself, and since Scott’s experiences are my own when it comes to these tunes, I have not changed their titles. You will find the page number each song refers to in the writing credits below the mp3 player below.
Keep in mind, the idea is not to sell or distribute any of my songs. For one, the way I recorded them was by grabbing my guitar, shutting myself up in my office, and recording them on my computer—they are not studio mastered, and far from perfect, but that raw feeling is like a journal entry to me, and that’s the whole point. There are, however, two tracks from SiR, the punk band that I was the guitarist for—just like Scott in his band Alter Boy. These songs were recorded in the studio and are available for purchase. Since we’ve been disbanded for a couple years, they’re only available for download from iTunes. The name of SiR’s complete CD is Rock on! Love, Agnes. If you’re into power-punk (it’s really called pop-punk, but the word “pop” just gives me the creeps) or if you’re just curious, definitely go to iTunes and check it out.
