J.E. Anzalone has been arrested, hit by a car, and held hostage at gunpoint. He was the lead singer of a heavy metal band in the 80’s, the guitarist of a punk band in the 90’s, and is a member of a well known disco band that has sold over 70 million records worldwide. He played bingo with Cher in Des Moines, and he was pointedly rude to Pink at a party in Sydney. (I’m really sorry, Pink. I was drunk.) He’s been a superhero and a 70’s icon, but he’s never written a novel—if you don’t count this one.
